Johan Brosché

Johan Brosché is Assistant Professor at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research, Uppsala University. Brosché has conducted research on Sudan and South Sudan for more than a decade and has more than a dozen publications on the Sudans including Violent Conflict and Peacebuilding – The Continuing Crisis in Darfur (Routledge, 2013 co-authored with Daniel Rothbart) and “Crisis of Governance in South Sudan: Electoral Politics and Violence in the World’s Newest Nation” (Journal of Modern African Studies, 2016, co-authored with Kristine Höglund). Brosché is currently involved in three research projects: one that examines the causes of peace in Malawi, Zambia, and Botswana, a second on the inter-linkages between different types of conflict, and, finally, a project on ‘warlord-democrats’ in South Sudan.
