Safiya Songhai

Safiya is an Emmy-Award winning Broadcast Journalist, former CNN Commentator on Erin Burnett OutFront, and Filmmaker based in New York City. She specializes in human-interest stories covering grass-roots efforts to improve living conditions in impoverished communities and disenfranchised people. She has worked with Habitat for Humanity in their Build Louder mission, New York City's Foster Care Program and the Silent March Campaign Against Gun Violence. Songhai received her MFA in Film and Television Production from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, and her BA in Mass Communications from Howard University.
